This week, from May 6th to May 12th, we are celebrating Correctional Services Staff Recognition Week. In conjunction to this week, we also recognize Probation Officers Week and National Nursing Week.
Each day, bargaining unit correctional staff members show their commitment to the taxpayers of Ontario by ensuring safe supervision, care, control, and operations of the thousands of inmates in Adult institutions and probation and parole offices.
During this week, we should not only reflect on the sacrifices from those who walked the front-lines before us, but also have a vision to the future on our continued struggles to work safe and work together.
The week will be highlighted on May 9, where we will honour the nineteen individuals who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving the taxpayers of Ontario in Ontario’s Correctional Services at the 8th annual Ceremony of Remembrance.
