Our 2nd annual was another great year for Corrections Cares events. Cold temperatures couldn’t stop our members from raising $13,000 and collecting 1,350 lbs. of food for charities and organizations across the province.

Niagara Detention Centre hosted several barbecues to raise money for Niagara Childrens’ Centre
Central North Correctional Centre raised over $3200 for ‘Coldest Night of the Year’ by hosting a BBQ and remaining out in the cold for 24hrs.
Maplehurst and Vanier Correctional Complex raised over $3200 for Halton’s Women Place’ by hosting a BBQ and remaining out in the cold for 24hrs.
Monteith Correctional Complex and South Porcupine Probation and Parole Office hosted BBQ with proceeds to the Living Space, a homeless shelter in Timmins
Thunder Bay Jail and Thunder Bay Correctional Centre Food Drive for the Underground Gym in Thunder Bay
Toronto South Detention Centre staff volunteered at the Toronto Daily Bread Food Bank by preparing food to be sent to shelters across the city.
Ottawa Carleton Detention Centre and Ottawa Probation and Parole hosted a BBQ raising money for the Rotel House, associated with Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and held a food drive to support the Ottawa Food Bank.
